Reader’s Question:

I am about to go to a cheap used car auction this weekend in Houston, Texas. Since this is my first time, what steps should I take so that I won’t look a newbie on that event?

Houston, TX

I had been in a cheap used car auction about six months ago in Houston, Texas and would like to share what where the steps I had taken since that was also my first time to attend an auction. To be able to join the bid, you must register first to the said auction. Most local car auctions especially if it was a government agency sponsored comes with free registrations, so you don’t have to worry. You may also search for bidding schedules and full details on the Internet. After the registration process, check if there are available scheduled inspection day so that you can personally scrutinize the vehicles being auctioned ahead of time. This also gives you enough options of getting the best vehicle that would suit your budget as well as your preference. If there are no available schedules, you may proceed on your preferred visit. Request for an auction booklet that should contain all the information that you need pertaining to the cars auctioned. This will help you in determining how much is the market value of the car as well as pertinent information liker model year, make, mileage and price range to know the starting bid price.

With all these and a little further research, you sure do have your ticket to owning the car that you are interested with. Just make sure that on top of this, get the best deal when it comes to getting a car insurance. This website has insurance rate offers that you can start checking with.
