When you buy a Houston area used car, the lemon laws do not apply. In fact, the only place that they do apply for used cars, that I’m aware of, is in New Jersey, because my cousin is there. In Houston, however, if you buy a car and have a consistent problem with it, then you are unable to make a claim with the original maker over it because the lemon laws do not apply to used cars.

This happened to my friend one time, and unfortunately she was struggling financially for awhile because she had to pay off a Houston area used car that just would never work, and at the same time pay for continuous repairs for the same thing until she just broke down and started car pooling. This is why I always check my Houston area used car thoroughly before I buy it.
