Reader’s Question:

Do you have any suggestion for somebody looking to buy a used Ford in Houston Texas?

Patrick

Houston Texas

If you want to purchase a good quality used Ford in Houston, then you are required to make sure it is certified. If you do not, then you are just placing yourself on the street to a very bad state, mechanical harms, perhaps even amazing that was once a lemon. A qualified used Ford in Houston is the most excellent way to stay safe when you are browsing for a used car, and there is no means that I would ever purchase a used Ford in Houston that was not certified.

A certified Ford in Houston is basically a car that may be a few years old, but has the majority of the benefits of a new car. If you acquire a certified Ford in Houston, then you are receiving a car that is extra dependable than your standard used car, and you are also going to be able to dig up a better car with not having to use up so much cash.

Prior to this there was a certified Ford in Houston; we had to estimate at whether or not a used car was any good quality. Generally you would have to have a mechanic to check it out before you bought it, but if you did not have one or no one was accessible, then you just had to go by the trial drive, which does not tell you a lot about numerous cars. Getting a certified Ford in Houston means you have by now accepted that step. A mechanic has seen the car and certified that it is in outstanding state.

Reader’s Question:

I just landed on my first job here in Houston, Texas and plan to buy at least a used car for me to use. Where or whom do you suggest can I get the best deal in purchasing affordable used car?

Joseph

Houston, TX

I had been a car owner for almost eight years now in Houston, Texas. My first car is also an old one yet still in good running condition. During these days, you can get a good conditioned vehicle at affordable prices. There are also variable options to take in purchasing a car. Prior to going to a used car dealer in your area, make a checklist first of what you are looking for in a vehicle and make a comparative study on the course of your budget. Check first how much are you willing to pay for a good running car as well as what are the features that you need for the car to serve its purpose. Try checking with private sellers, Internet stores, public auctions and even used car dealers. However, I find it more convenient and affordable to buy a used car through private sellers. Most of these sellers advertise the specifications and prices through local newspaper advertisements. You can also consider checking local used car dealers. Since they can also offer you good price package, you can even bargain for additional features that would come for your car.

Regardless of where or whom are you going to buy the car, it would be very important that you give special attention to the car’s history and reputation. By the way, one important factor as well in buying a car is having it covered, with no less than affordable insurance. You can have your first move by checking on this website for premium rates.

Reader’s Question:

How can I check out the records of a used car in Houston, Texas before buying it?

Jayson

Houston, TX

Buying a used car in TX Houston, you should check the vehicle history report first. It’s one of the most important things to do when you want to buy a used car. Knowing the used car’s history will surely a great help in making decision weather you’re going to buy that car or not. The used car vehicle reports can get their information from more than five thousand sources, enough sources to get the information you that you want in checking your used car’s history. You can look at things such as claims, past theft, wrecks, if it’s a flood salvage car, and so on. And in order to get this, you will need the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) for the car. Checking the car’s history will definitely save you from buying a trash. Check the past mechanical problem of the vehicle.

You can also have your trusted mechanic to take a look at your used car to know if it’s still good to have. It’s better to be sure of its working condition to avoid hassles and problems in the future. Remember, by the time that you signed all the papers of buying the car, you’re taking all the responsibility and you cannot complaint to your dealer anymore. You should always be assertive in asking questions. But still you cannot trust the dealer to be honest with you because more often, they are not. They will not tell you that the car that they are selling to you is not reliable. Of course, it is because they want sale. Used car is a good option, but make sure that you’ll pick the right one.

Q: I’m trying to sell my used car in Houston Texas, but I don’t have the title. How do I do this?

A: First of all, if you’re selling your used car in Houston Texas and you don’t have the title yet, then you’re probably selling it way to soon. From my experience (and I’ve bought several cars), you normally get the title on your car a couple of weeks after you’ve paid off the last of your loan. This can vary, as sometimes I would just stop by the car lot a couple of days after my last payment and pick up my title, but I’ve never heard of anyone getting a title for their used car in Houston Texas until it was completely paid off.

However, if you’re going to do that then you’re just going to have to set up a deal with the buyer that once you have finished paying off your loan you will fax them the title.

Reader’s Question:

Should I get the extended warranty that my Ford dealer in Houston Texas is offering?

Gerard

Houston, TX

I actually have one on my car, but that is mostly since by the time I bought it at the Ford dealer in Houston Texas, it had only been on the market for a few months but already it had roughly worn all of its warranty miles. I do not know what the preceding owner was doing with it, but wherever they went; their driving made me get an extended warranty.

But that is the lone time that I have ever had to buy one. A lot of time they’re just a waste of money. It is really up to on how you are with cars. I have a friend that has been driving the identical car for eight years, while among me and my husband we have bought five cars over the past four years.

For you my friend, it would almost certainly be a good idea to obtain an extended warranty from your Ford dealer in Houston Texas. This is for the reason that regularly the warranty from the factory is approximately thirty six thousand miles or three years, whichever comes first, so my friend you would have been long past his factory warranty on his car. For me and my husband, apart from the situation with your current car, there would be no reason for us to get an extended warranty since we would probably have a new car by the time our factory warranty terminates.

Furthermore it depends on the car. I mean, is the car believed to be really dependable? Do you know anyone else who has had a preceding model of the same car for a few years and has not had any troubles? If a car is really dependable, then you may be able to leave out the extended warranty, even if you plan to have it for more than a few years.

Reader’s Question:

I am planning to buy a car by fall this year here in Houston, Texas. I need to know, what do I need to know before I buy one?

Kelly

Houston, TX

Since you mentioned that you are already planning to buy a car, you need to get at least these 5 in depth facts before you let go of your hard earned dollars.

First, check the record of the car’s reliability, as well as the car’s repair record. It would not be great idea if you buy a car that has been already a patient for car repair shop for quite some time. You may check Consumer Reports, in which they have sections in their buying guide for frequency repair given by subscribers. Their section on Reliable Used Cars and Used Cars to Avoid are really helpful.

Then, you may want to check local websites and even manufacturer website if the car model you are planning to buy has recalled a particular model. To see if your car has ever been recalled or had big manufacturer problems, the easiest way is to look for Consumer Guides, check their Used Car Rating Guide, this section shows information about an individually used car such as its technical data, suggest price range, and a description of the recall history. If your car model had problems in the past, they would know about it and list it here.

Third is that you have to check blogs, forums and websites that showcase car reviews from owners and check for satisfaction level. This would be helpful in setting your expectation with the car model you are planning to buy. The easiest way to do this is to talk to your friends and acquaintances who owned the car. Just always remember, their evidence is only just anecdotal. Still, the best information you need to use Consumer Reports which has satisfaction ratings in them alongside the car reviews.

Then check also for suggested price. Several cheap used car dealers in Houston will give you the best price but you have to select the best though. Nothing is ever more valuable than the best cost saving model you can afford.

Lastly, your best estimate at the amount of mark-up that a dealer will place on the car.

If you get a Houston used car for sale, even if it’s certified, then you are not simply let off scott free from any problems that it might have. As a matter of fact, many tests have been done on so called certified Houston used car for sale only to come back saying that these cars are not in such great shape as they clam to be. The best thing that you can ensure by getting a certified Houston used car for sale is that it will be expensive and relatively new compared to every other Houston used car for sale.

Ask your dealer if they ran a title check on the Houston used car for sale, and ask specific questions about what all they did to recondition the car. Sometimes, they’ll just give it all the points even if it doesn’t deserve them.

One thing that you want to look out for when you go to a Houston used car dealer is the flood salvaged cars. Every year around this time, a swath of hurricanes comes through along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, and naturally since Houston is so close, its automobile victims migrate on over to every Houston used car dealer. As a responsible buyer, you have to watch for these types of cars.

When a car is flood damaged, the Houston used car dealer is required to get it a flood title, so that you’ll know before you buy it that it was in a flood, and thus will be prone to have quite a few problems. However, many times the dealership in another state will ship it to a Houston used car dealer so that they can skirt that requirement, making it a little more difficult for you. Looking for signs of flood damage and checking the vehicle history can save you a bundle.

Q: I don’t want to buy some thousand dollar Houston Texas used car off of Craigslist, but every time I look in the Chronicle or a Houston Texas used car, they’re either to cheap or somewhere around five to ten thousand dollars. I only have three thousand dollars saved up, so how am I supposed to pay for a good car?

A: If you only have three thousand dollars for a Houston Texas used car, then you should try to just spend within your means. Just because the car only costs three thousand dollars doesn’t mean that it’s automatically a bad car. I’ve bought plenty of $2500 cars, and they’ve ended up lasting me and being more dependent as a Houston Texas used car than a new car would be.

A: Here’s something that I didn’t realize the first few times I bought a Houston Texas used car–you can actually get financed for a car that you’re buying from an individual. You can go through Capital One, a credit union, a bank, whatever, go online, and you can stil get the check and just make monthly payments to the bank.

When you buy a Houston area used car, the lemon laws do not apply. In fact, the only place that they do apply for used cars, that I’m aware of, is in New Jersey, because my cousin is there. In Houston, however, if you buy a car and have a consistent problem with it, then you are unable to make a claim with the original maker over it because the lemon laws do not apply to used cars.

This happened to my friend one time, and unfortunately she was struggling financially for awhile because she had to pay off a Houston area used car that just would never work, and at the same time pay for continuous repairs for the same thing until she just broke down and started car pooling. This is why I always check my Houston area used car thoroughly before I buy it.
