Q: I’m trying to sell my used car in Houston Texas, but I don’t have the title. How do I do this?
A: First of all, if you’re selling your used car in Houston Texas and you don’t have the title yet, then you’re probably selling it way to soon. From my experience (and I’ve bought several cars), you normally get the title on your car a couple of weeks after you’ve paid off the last of your loan. This can vary, as sometimes I would just stop by the car lot a couple of days after my last payment and pick up my title, but I’ve never heard of anyone getting a title for their used car in Houston Texas until it was completely paid off.
However, if you’re going to do that then you’re just going to have to set up a deal with the buyer that once you have finished paying off your loan you will fax them the title.
